Department of Radiology

Our Radiology department at Phoenix Hospital, Mussafah, Shabia, is a one-stop station for all radiological services providing an extensive range of Diagnostic Imaging Services – X-Ray & CT Scans. Qualified Technical and Supporting Staff Provide the Best Patient Care.

MRI

We have a 1.5 Tesla short length  &  Ultra-Wide Bore MRI. This machine is specially designed for claustrophobic patients. It has the most advanced imaging software for Neurology, Cardiology, and Musculoskeletal applications.

CT

The 64 slice Multi Detector CT Scan (MDCT) which can provide Cardiac Calcium Scoring, CT- cardiac Angiogram, whole-body CT Angiogram, and 3D reconstruction.

ULTRASOUND

The Ultrasound section can conduct Carotid Doppler, Obstetrics & Gynecology imaging, Abdomen & Pelvis imaging, Breast Imaging, and 3D and 4D imaging.

Digital Radiography

We are equipped with completely digital X-ray units capable of displaying images immediately after the procedure. The PACS system shows images to doctors in their consulting rooms. This saves time for patients. This section contain the following:

  • Digital Mammography

A mammogram is an important step in taking care of yourself and your breasts. Mammogram uses low-power X-ray imaging to find out any abnormalities in breasts. Many centers still use analog mammograms, meaning they print the images on film. However, digital mammography is now available to us, allowing our radiologists to capture and manipulate the images so abnormalities can be seen more easily.

  • Digital Fluoroscopy

Digital Fluoroscopy is a form of X-ray that allows us to view deep structures of the body in real – time. It provides incredibly detailed images of function and the structure of areas like the intestines, bladder, cardiac muscle, and stomach.

  • Orthopantomography (OPG)

An OPG is a panoramic or wide view x-ray of the lower face, which displays all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film. It demonstrates the number, position, and growth of all the teeth including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted. A digital OPG eliminates the need for repeated scans, which reduces costs and reduces patient exposure to radiation. Other significant advantages include instantly viewable images, the ability to enhance images and sending images through electronic media.

  • Portable radiography

Hospital use portable radiographic devices to take X-rays of patients who can’t go to the radiology department. These patients are in critical care units, emergency rooms, or operating rooms.
